Historic Millbrook Cathedral Wedding

We are excited to share this incredible wedding shoot in the Village of Millbrook with a population of 1695 people which became part of Peterborough County in 1974.

Breathtaking and spiritual this landmark now called Millbrook Cathedral was formerly know as Millbrook’s St. Andrew’s United Church built in 1883. It is known for being the “most beautiful country church East of Toronto”. Millbrook Cathedral has since been remodelled overlooking it’s own woods and babbling brook. It was the perfect place for the styled shoot designed and directed by the talented Francesca Schettini from by Francesca, xo Weddings.

The styled shoot with historic backdrops, cathedral ceilings, picturesque windows along with it’s country charm was waiting to be transformed into a “Modern Vintage” Wedding. Francesca decided to kept the decor to a minimum to showcase it’s beauty. The brides modern dress was made to look vintage and her long locks were topped with a fascinator. The grooms tailed charcoal grey suit complimented the iron elements from the church. Can we talk about those big red doors for a moment! These read doors are a show stopper with the brides dress cascading down the tall doors for all to see.  Inside, the tables where adorned with lace black overlays, vintage candelabra’s and minimal geenery.  The modern marble wedding cake, mousse cups, crispy pops and designer donuts sit on a modern tall black and chrome table underneath the stained glass window. Whimsical touches were added to the bride and grooms attire to include the “NEW TREND” of running shoes instead of couture shoes for the wedding day. Her bouquet with simple greenery and black ribbon whistled in the wind as she stood in front of the BIG RED DOORS.

This styled shoot doesn’t miss a beat with key elements focusing on the beauty of this magestic Cathedral. If you are looking to get married in a venue filled with history and charm, this is the place. From inside and out it has everything you need to create a one of a kind wedding that your guests will be talking about for years to come.
