Tips on Planning Your Wedding Flowers

Meet Owner and Creative Director Nicholas Smith at Opening Night Flowers at Beneath the Veil on October 2nd 2016 in Toronto at Rosewater.
We had a chance to catch up with Nicholas and here is his advice for planning your wedding flowers!
Plan your wedding with colour schemes, not specific flowers. This will allow the designer to come up with something special by utilizing their creativity and provide perceived value that assists with budget. We create a custom, ultimate colour palette that consists of both premium and accent flowers. We’ll use your favourite garden rose, and accent it with regular roses. Colour scheme is maintained, but friendly to the bank account.

Plan ahead! Too many brides stress themselves out by leaving their flowers and planning to the last minute causing stress and anxiety for all. Book your florist as early as possible to ensure you have a reputable vendor before the wedding season rush. Once booked, the bride and groom can sit back and enjoy their time together in anticipation of their forthcoming nuptials.

Use Pinterest as inspiration, not as a shopping catalog. The perception of these outlets can leave one disappointed when finding out that the cost of flowers and services is a lot more than expected. I encourage couples to send me photos from Pinterest as inspiration, and leave it to us to create custom wow-factors that articulate their vision on a luxurious but approachable cost.
