Urbanites Yvonne and Kevin tied the knot at the modern and sleek downtown Toronto wedding venue, Airship 37. The day was captured by the incredible talents of wedding photographers, A Brit and A Blonde.
The day started off the day with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, which is a ritual to formally introduce the couple to each other’s families and to pay their respects to their elders.
They wore traditional Chinese Cheongsam and Changshan in red and in gold, and the colours popped incredibly against the downtown Toronto backdrops.
With the help of some of her friends and family, they created the décor and details themselves. The fabric pockets which housed the invitations were sewn by Yvonne and her mom.
The quilt squares for guests to sign is now in the process of being sewing into a quilt!
The circle garlands that hung from the ceiling were created by her friends at a bridal craft tea party. Such a great idea!
Yvonne’s uncle, aunt and cousin helped create the photo wall with photos mounted on cardstocks and hung from clothespins covered in coloured fabric tape. Even the wedding cake, yummy dessert table and flowers were done by friends and family. And of, course the fun Scrabble elements for the table numbers and seating arrangements were all done by Yvonne, who is a DYI queen!
We just adore this wedding, which is full of love and style! A perfect inspiration for an urban wedding!
