Luxurious Shangri-La

I recently had the pleasure of spending a night at the ultra luxurious Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Toronto. This gorgeous property with superior service is the ideal accommodation for a couple’s first night as husband and wife, urban professionals and those looking for a getaway in the city.

The view of Canada’s largest metropolis city is breathtaking, even for those who are used to living in Toronto.

Located in the heart of the city, the hotel’s car service is readily available to whisk you off to the theater, boutique shops or sporting event.

The suite has the perfect balance of comfort and luxury. Floor to ceiling windows allows in natural light, wood and marble decor, heated flooring and butler services appease those with the most discerning standards.

The Garden Suite, one of the most popular suites at the hotel leads outdoors to a sprawling garden patio full of planters in every shape and size.  Designed by urban gardening expert Josie Vincent, who created the space with an element of surprise for hotel patrons.

The hotel’s Health Club is complete with state of the art fitness equipment, classes, a steam room and a spectacular 20-metre lap swimming pool underneath a glass roof with cascading water features, modern chandeliers, and a candle-lit wall.

The Miraj Hammam Spa is an exotic oasis of offering traditional hammam and gommage treatments.  The design is architecturally inspired with historical and cultural influences from Paris, Morocco, and Istanbul making the experience unlike any other in Toronto.

Just past the Lobby Lounge, the cities, urban-living room is Shangri-La’s signature restaurant, BOSK. An Asian inspired, Canadian  7-course tasting menu complete with amuse bouche and wine pairings is a culinary adventure that is prepared with the highest of excellence by head-chef Damon Campbell.

If you are looking for an exceptional venue for your wedding, an amazing accommodation downtown Toronto or simply searching for an exquisite meal, the Shangri-La Hotel will not disappoint!
